My ceramics are very much influenced by my background in graphic design, often having a fairly minimalist aesthetic. I mainly work with black and white porcelain and bone china as I very much enjoy the purity and depth of the black and white they allow me to achieve. I draw inspiration from a love of food, art and typography. I am also very interested in exploring ideas around fragility and things that are broken – and the celebration of these imperfections.
An element of humour and playfulness is an important part of my design and creative process. My aim is to work towards achieving my own version of 'perfect imperfection', whether the finished piece is functional or decorative, hand-built or individually slipcast.
Please do get in touch if you would like to find out more about my work, or are interested in buying or commissioning.
